The 19th Hole Duffers (formerly the ATD Golf Club) is an associate club in good standing with the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA). We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We host roughly 2 tournaments a month April through October and 1 tournament a month during the off season (November through March).

Duffers - Club By-Laws

ARTICLE I: NAME
The name of this organization shall be "19th HOLE DUFFERS"

ARTICLE II: PURPOSES
First: To stimulate interest in golf at the scheduled courses by bringing together a group of golfers desirous of forming a golfing organization.
Second: To promote and foster among its members a closer bond and fraternity for their joint and mutual benefit, and to promote and conserve the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions.
Third: To enforce uniformity in the rules of the game by creating a representative authority.
Fourth: To maintain a uniform system of handicapping as set forth in the regulations of the Northern California Golf Association.

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1. Regular membership shall be available to any person who is sponsored by an existing regular member and remits payment of the then effective club dues and NCGA fees.
SECTION 2. Membership confers no voice in the operation of the golf courses, clubhouse, nor any facilities of the courses.
SECTION 3. Membership confers no special privileges in connection with the golf courses.
SECTION 4. Memberships in the Club are for a calendar year only, with all memberships expiring on December 31st.
SECTION 5. The calendar year for the Club will be January 1st through December 31st.
SECTION 6. The Board of Directors may confer honorary memberships upon those whom they feel have contributed to the advancement of golf. The unanimous affirmative vote of the Board of Directors shall be required to approve such action.
SECTION 7. In the event any member of this organization shall commit any act which reflects discredit or disrepute thereon or shall refuse or neglect to comply with the rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Directors, or the duly appointed Officers, such member shall be subject to suspension or expulsion after ten (10) days written notice and the right to appear before the Board of Directors. A vote of two thirds of the Board of Directors, at any regular meeting, or a special meeting called for such purpose, shall be required to approve such action.
SECTION 8. The annual meeting of the 19th HOLE DUFFERS shall be held on the 3rd Saturday in the month of January. The Board of Directors shall provide for the holding of such other meetings as may be deemed necessary or desirable.

ARTICLE IV: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SECTION 1: The 19th HOLE DUFFERS Board of Directors shall consist of officers, duly elected at the annual meeting of the 19th HOLE DUFFERS in January. Club Officer positions are President, Treasurer, Handicap Chairman, Game Day Coordinator and Tournament Coordinator.

ARTICLE V: FEES
SECTION 1: Annual club dues shall be established by the Board of Directors. Such fees shall remain in effect until modified by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors may order emergency, one time assessments, if necessary to keep the Club financially solvent. An unanimous approval of the Board of Directors is required to impose such assessments.
SECTION 2: Board of Directors annual club dues shall be paid by the Club.
SECTION 3: New members joining after 15 September of the year, shall be required to pay only one-half of the annual club dues for the year in which joining, plus the NCGA fees.
SECTION 4: Members and/or guests who sign up for a tournament or club event after the specified closing or due dates for payment are not guaranteed a starting time. Mailed entries must be post marked on or before the stated cutoff date.
SECTION 5: Members and/or guests who have signed up for a tournament or club event and subsequently cancel their participation prior to the established closing date, shall be given a full credit or refund fees paid. Refunds will be issued for cancellations received after the closing date, only if the club is able to obtain a full refund from the Golf Course. Cancellations may be delivered to any 19th HOLE DUFFERS Officer.

ARTICLE VI: COMMITTEES
SECTION 1: The Board of Directors shall create such Standing or Special Committees as may be necessary to plan, coordinate and execute Club activities, or as otherwise deemed appropriate to assist the Board of Directors.

ARTICLE VII: AWARDS
SECTION 1: As an associate NCGA golf club, the 19th Hole Duffers sanctions and tracks awards and prizes to recognize, engage and incentivize its members.
SECTION 2: Each regular season tournament will award prizes and/or points to members using handicapped flight(s) and specific achievement categories including (but not limited to) closest to the pin, longest drive, longest holed shot on 18, and least total putts.  The fees collected in the event registration should cover all expenses of prizes awarded (unless previously approved by the Board).  The expected prize value should be consistent and published for each event unless considered a special event (such as a major tournament for which the prizes and points are increased).  Awards/prizes should be handed out at the end of the round to each winner, or a monetary credit should be applied to the member’s club account after the event, if the member was not present.  Points for each category will be kept for each event with a running total for the yearly golf season.
In 2024 – If a tournament has 12 or more players in each flight - a fourth place will be added with increased winnings for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  Additionally 2 tournament points will be awarded for 4th place in any flight that has more than 7 players. Points are doubled for Majors (see Events > Scoring)

SECTION 3: Additionally, the club sponsors ‘side games’ such as Deuces, Net Skins and Gross Skins.  These side games are optional for each player and funded by collecting extra fees from each willing participant.  The club should keep the awards (in total value) in balance with the money collected for each event. 
SECTION 4: End of year awards (trophies) and monetary prizes should go to the following:
       1.   Club Champion (trophy)
       2.   Club Low Gross Champion (trophy)
       3.   Club Match Play Champion (trophy) and Runner-up ($20 cash)
       4.   Long Drive Champions ($20 cash each for the winning Man and Woman)
Note: As a rule, the winner of Club Champion, Low Gross Champion and/or Match Play Champ should not be the same person receiving the award.  If this occurs, the trophy will go to the runner-up in the award category the multi-winner doesn't chose.. 
SECTION 5: To maintain amateur status, the USGA limits a player’s total yearly winnings to $1000.  Players concerned about their amateur status should keep track of their winnings and, if necessary, decline a prize.  ((monetary limit reference here)
